Refund & Cancellation Policy

Welcome to AncientTao (the "Platform", "we", "us", or "our"). AncientTao operates strictly as a premium Private Sourcing Agency and Sourcing Concierge. We act on behalf of our clients to procure boutique, aesthetic, and cultural items directly from source artisans and premium suppliers in Asia. By submitting a sourcing request and completing payment, you explicitly acknowledge and agree that AncientTao is providing a customized, on-demand sourcing and quality concierge service, and is not the manufacturer or primary vendor of the procured physical goods.

Due to the highly customized nature of private reverse-sourcing services, our refund, return, and cancellation structures are rigorously governed by the following two-stage milestones:

1. Milestone 1: Pre-Procurement Phase (Before We Purchase)
Cancellation Eligibility:You retain the absolute right to cancel your sourcing request at any time before our domestic procurement desk officially executes the purchase with the source supplier.
Refund Process:If you request a cancellation within this window, a 100% full refund of your first-stage payment (including the product deposit and service fee) will be automatically processed back to your original payment method.

2. Milestone 2: Post-Procurement Phase (After We Purchase)
Absolute Non-Cancellable Policy:Once our procurement team has purchased the requested item from the supplier on your behalf, the order enters a legally binding customized status. At this stage, the order CANNOT be cancelled, modified, or refunded under any circumstances, including "change of mind" or buyer's remorse.
Service Fee Earned:Our fixed $19.99 Private Sourcing & Concierge Service Fee is non-refundable under all circumstances once active procurement operations have commenced.

3. Milestone 3: Sourcing Desk Quality Control (QC) & Inspection Issues
To insulate our global clients from quality discrepancies, AncientTao conducts a rigorous live physical quality inspection at our domestic fulfillment studio prior to international dispatch.
Defect Discovery:In the highly unlikely event that our sourcing specialists detect physical defects, structural damage, or severe quality deviations during inspection, we will immediately halt the shipment and upload live photos/videos for your review.
Remedy Options:** Depending on the source supplier's institutional return policies, we will proactively advocate on your behalf to execute one of the following remedies at zero additional service cost to you:
  1. Request an immediate identical replacement from the artisan.
  2. Secure a full refund from the supplier to credit back to your account.
  3. Assist you in selecting an alternative premium product of equivalent value.
Client Approval:Once you review the inspection media and provide formal approval for dispatch, the product is deemed 100% satisfactory, and the domestic inspection phase is officially closed.

4. International Logistics, Transit Damage, and Liability Disclaimers
Once a customized parcel is securely reinforced and hands over to our specialized international DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping line, liability transitions to the international postal carrier.
Transit Damage Protocol:If your package suffers external damage during international transit, you must notify our service desk within forty-eight (48) hours of the carrier's timestamped delivery. To initiate a carrier dispute file, your report MUST include:
  1. High-resolution photos of the outer shipping box showing the shipping label and structural impact.
  2. Clear photos/videos of the damaged item itself.
  3. Your official AncientTao order invoice number.
 AncientTao will aggressively manage the claim arbitration process with the international carrier. However, direct compensation or replacements are strictly contingent upon the carrier’s official claim approval and payout.
Incorrect Items: In the exceptional event of an administrative error where AncientTao dispatches an item that materially diverges from your confirmed sourcing specifications, we will immediately initiate an expedited resolution protocol to rectify the issue at our expense.
Carrier Logistical Losses: If an international shipment is officially verified and declared "lost in transit" by the postal carrier, we will assist you in filing an insurance claim and work diligently toward an equitable commercial solution. AncientTao is not liable for structural customs delays, local carrier transit anomalies, or theft post-delivery (e.g., "porch piracy").
